The Environmentalist Popstar - An Indie Artist with a Cause

I’m not your everyday music artist.
I’m a community leader, volunteer, environmentalist, role model, older brother, dancer teacher, and champion of sustainability alongside being a singer/songwriter/producer.
Are you one of those spoiled brats from a rich family who have all the time in the world to pursue music?
Nope. I grew up living somewhat frugally (I thought we were poor) and spend very little nowadays thanks to that and my current boycott of many brands. I originally pursued nursing, then digital marketing, then Youtube, then finally made the confident decision to go into music and nonprofit management. I know music and nonprofit work might be a recipe for starvation and homelessness but after serving my community for the last few years, I’ve seen enough good in the world to feel confident that I will always be able to bounce back. Plus, being an environmentalist saves me a lot of money and I’m lowkey a cheapskate. I love DIY.
What makes you different from all the other indie artists and aspiring popstars?
I am rising on a platform of environmentalism and sustainability. My goal for becoming a global popstar is so that I can advocate for environmental justice and encourage others to live as eco-consciously as I do. I also want to start a national youth gardening and environmental nonprofit that teaches children how to garden, cook healthy food, manage finances, navigate college, and live sustainably. I feel that there’s currently a gap in education in regards to these vital topics, especially for low-income communities, and I want to be part of the movement that closes that gap. In general, I think it’s also important to promote a healthy, responsible, and sustainable lifestyle because so much of social media and company marketing promotes a lifestyle that’s very unfulfilling and full of endless desires.
Additionally, I write all my own songs, in my own words, and all of them are true. My music is a way for me to tell the personal stories that I’d normally be uncomfortable sharing. You see, I like to think of myself as more of an active listener. I love asking questions and learning about other people’s lives. But in my lyrics and melodies, I imbue all the emotions and stories that I fumble over, shy away from, or forget when it comes to conversing in person. However, I also enjoy writing love songs for my friends and families to show them how much I love them all. Music makes such a perfect high effort, low cost gift!
Why should I listen to your music?
Other than my hope that my music will make you feel understood and uplifted, supporting my music means casting a vote towards real, pure environmentalism and equity, NONE of that greenwashing sh**.
I cringe away from people who are flashy with their values or do more speaking than actual doing. I’ve always been an “actions speak louder than words” kinda guy. My values are everything that you see my put my efforts towards. But if I had to put it in words, I think the main values I live by are environmentalism, honesty, growth mindset, equity, and community. I’m sure there are a lot more inherent values that I follow but I’m more busy living and acting by them than I am speaking them.
I’ve volunteered at and hosted hundreds of community serving events over just the past 3 years alone. We all have the ability to help our communities today. I don’t believe that philanthropy is only something the rich can afford to do. I choose to serve today instead of tomorrow and I’m honest as sh** about it. Where can I see you live?
I have no plans for formal live performances yet, but I am always open for collabs and I volunteer every week. On any given week you can find me donating blood, tending to native plants for habitat restoration, flipping community compost piles, tending to my community garden, sorting and handing out food at the local food pantry, or cleaning up the local hiking trail. Join me in these activities and you just might catch me out and about in the wild.
How come your music’s not on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music?
Streaming makes very little money for indie artists unless you’re one of the top artists in the world, because most of the money from streaming goes to lining the pockets of the ultra-wealthy.
I respect and value my own efforts above the sweatshop wages that I’d get from streaming platforms. I provide high quality music and content at an affordable and accessible price (You can pick your price). No one else does music with a meaning like I do.
